Gingersnap – Adopted!

  • Hound mix,
  • female,
  • 5 years,
  • 45 lbs.

Named for the old fashioned cookies that her velvety coat so closely resembles, Gingersnap is as timid as she is beautiful. Gaining her trust requires great patience, but once she loves you, she really, really loves you. When she first arrived, she spent all her time cowering on the couch. Now, after months in foster care, she greets her foster mom by jumping and dancing at the door! She gets SO excited when her foster mom escorts her outside (she’s still a big chicken and refuses to go outside alone during daylight hours) so that she can chase squirrels and race across the yard after her foster sister. Once playtime is done, she will retreat to her couch to cuddle up with a pillow or toy (she does not cuddle with humans). Gingersnap will need an experienced, adult-only home with another dog to reassure her (she would be over the moon to find a smaller dog who will play with her!) and a secure physical fence to allow her to exercise safely. She is housebroken and does not need to be crated. Cats unknown, however she is gentle with the small dogs in her foster home. If you think our shy girl might be the right fit for you, let us know!

Please note that Gingersnap needs a secure physical fence and another dog to be successful in her new home.
