Grover

Grover is a mix (black lab and pitbull), male, 6 years old, 58 lbs.

Grover is a very sweet, smart, handsome and active boy! He loves to fetch and play flashlight tag and to go for long walks. Grover is an energetic boy who loves to play, and will either need an active family who will give him plenty of exercise, or a home with a playful canine companion. He gets along well with both female and male dogs, even adolescent males. He has shown some apprehension with sudden movements, so a home without children would be best for Grover. He has had training and is learning to walk nicely on leash, but those pesky squirrels MUST be chased off, so adopters must be strong and prepared to rein him in. We are unaware of any contact with a cat. A smart boy, Grover will thrive in a family which will continue to work with and train him. Grover is not a fan of being crated and if he can’t be with his people, a baby gate across the door of the family room works better for him. Grover has always been a somewhat anxious dog and is currently on anxiety meds to help settle him down, especially when left alone. He is also on hypothyroid meds and prescription kidney diet, but the vet expects him to have a normal lifespan. If you are interested in Grover, please fill out an application through Peppertree Rescue and they will forward it to his family.
