You would never guess that this little pixie is 10! Leilani is 20 pounds of floofy, snuggly sweetness, wanting only to curl up next to you at every occasion. She is housetrained, knows all basic commands (we are working on recall), and has a delightful habit of dancing on her hind legs when she is excited. She does well with both dogs in her foster home and is very fond of the smaller of the two. It is apparent that she was an only dog, as she didn’t know how to play with her foster siblings when she arrived from Puerto Rico. However, she has made great strides and flings herself into the play now. When the play overwhelms her, she jumps up next to her foster mom for a time out. Leilani is not sure what to make of the cat – tending to give him a wide berth and only acknowledging him when warning him away from her foster mom’s lap. Leilani is good on a leash and tends to feel more secure when on the leash. She is a timid soul but warms up quickly and is very affectionate. Since too much noise and action make her nervous, she would do best in a home without young children.
