River is a large 13-year old lab/lab mix who hails from Tennessee. People are surprised to learn his age as while he has a little gray on his handsome face, he is a robust guy! Having been left homeless in his senior years, River is looking for a family who will love him for who he is: a quiet elder who loves walks, naps, food, treats, toys and affection (not in any particular order!). He sleeps during the day while his foster mom is at work and is always at the door to greet her when she gets home. His happiness makes his entire body wiggle and wag so much that he drops to the ground to roll around quite like a puppy. River is completely housebroken, likes to play fetch, loves to greet people on his walks and has  perfected a lean and wag to bring smiles to faces. Although he is doing well in a foster home with two other dogs, we are looking for a home where he will be the only pet. River is a sweet unassuming boy who deserves a home of his own, where he will be loved and safe for the rest of his life.
