Rufio, or Handsome, as he’s lovingly called in his foster home, is a happy puppy looking for his forever home. Found as a stray in Kentucky, Rufio is excited to enjoy the perks of being an indoor dog. He loves to be close to his person, whether it’s laying on the kitchen floor during food prep or cuddling in bed at the end of the day. Rufio has never met a stranger – he flops down and insists on belly rubs at all first meetings. He loves to get loved on and he deserves it! Rufio can be very vocal at times so he’ll let you know if he needs more attention. He’s house trained and rides nicely in the car, though he sometimes needs encouragement to get into the car.

Rufio is excited about life and all of the adventures that come with it. This is evident by his leash skills. He will stop to mark in every tree/ bush/ corner and is always happy to be outside. Rufio is working on his leash skills but he’s willing to learn! Rufio does have a high prey drive and will chase every squirrel he sees. He’s also been working on his basic commands, like sit/down/off/come/stay but he’s just a puppy! Rufio needs an active home where he can get plenty of playtime. At his current home, there’s a 12-year old pup who he can’t convince to play with him. He’s good with other dogs and would love someone to play with!
