  • Beagle mix,
  • female,
  • 6-8 years,
  • 21 lbs.

Meet Ruthie, the people-loving pup! She was rescued from a kill shelter in North Carolina and couldn’t be a sweeter girl! Ruthie has yet to find a person that she doesn’t want attention from. She loves cuddling up and getting pets all day long. When not getting attention, Ruthie loves going on walks. During our walks, she’s either smelling as much as she can or trying to chase down any birds she sees. After a nice walk, Ruthie can be found snuggled up, snoring while she naps! She’s very curious, looking in any corner available to her. She’s great in the car- either lying down or watching out the window. Ruthie is crate-trained and is almost fully housebroken. As much as Ruthie loves people, we recommend her being in a home without other dogs.

Full disclosure with Ruthie- she was heartworm positive when she was rescued in North Carolina. Although she’s now recovering from her treatment, we’re unsure of any lasting effects from extended exposure to the parasite. She has a cardiologist appointment in mid-July and that should shed more light on Ruthie’s prognosis. With that said, Ruthie doesn’t let anything stop her and you would never notice anything wrong with her!
