  • female,
  • 1-2 years,
  • 40 lbs.

Meet Violet, a sweet pit bull mix who is discovering that life can be fun. She is a timid girl who needs a home that will allow her to explore at her own pace. She was picked up as a strayafter it was reported she had been tossed over a fence into someone’s yard – not a good start in life. When we first met her she was so traumatized that she hid in corners hoping not to be noticed. Over the past few months, as life has become predictable, she has shown us that she is becoming a brave and plucky little girl. She has begun to venture out and try new things, including slowly gaining trust in humans again. Although people can be a little scary, Violet has no reservations about making friends with any dog that crosses her path. She loves to play with her canine pals. We believe Violet would blossom in a quiet household with another dog not only to keep her company, but to help her be more self-confident. Violet is housetrained and has great house manners. If you allow it, she loves to snuggle in bed with her humans at night. There is a strong possibility that she could be a flight risk until she has completed her journey to trust people, so her best place would be a home that has a securely fenced yard and no young children.
