Bijou – 6 year old female – 35 lbs mixed breed – Miss Bijou is a very sweet and sensitive girl. She’s had a rough go of it in life and that’s left her with anxiety. Her family was told she started out as a feral dog, found her way into a home with other dogs somehow and then ended up in a shelter for the first time. From there, she was adopted into a home with dozens of cats. Unfortunately, her owner passed and left everyone behind, and she ended up once again in a shelter. Bijou needs a quiet, stable and patient home that will continue to build trust with her and make her feel safe. She is not much of a cuddler yet but with the right person, she could be. Bijou loves being petted and wants to be near you. She would likely love a playful canine friend who has the confidence to help her thrive, and does well with cats, but is best in a home with older or no children.
