Nick – ADOPTED!

  • 40 lbs.

Nick is a sweet, bouncy young dog with a wonderful temperament who is looking for some guidance and consistency to help him become the amazing companion he is meant to be! Nick came to us from Puerto Rico where he was in a foster home. Despite the long flight and car ride to get to Albany, he was still ready to play a bit and quickly settled in for some cuddles. He transitioned really well and appears to be completely house-trained. Nick is not a big barker, but lacks some basic house manners, especially with those long legs – no counter-top is safe! We are working on ‘sit’ and he seems very trainable.

His foster mom has taken him out in different situations and he has done very well. He is a dream in the car and walks really well in a harness. He is very friendly with other dogs and new people including kids. His only downfall is that he can be over-eager, and sometimes misses cues that he needs to back off or relax. We think Nick is still very young which is definitely notable in his puppy-like play. He doesn’t know his own size and needs some help learning that people are not toys or jungle-gyms! Though he’s a medium energy-level boy, he gets quite busy looking for attention, smells, or something to play with. When he does settle he is the sweetest cuddle-bug and happy to rest his head in your lap.
