Help us save more dogs by fostering

CarsonRunningBecause Peppertree Rescue doesn’t have a shelter, we rely solely on our foster home network to provide a safe and stable temporary home to get dogs ready for adoption.

It’s simple: the more people who open their homes for fostering, the more dogs we can save. It’s a rewarding way to give to our organization and it’s a critical part of what we do. Most importantly, it’s fun!

You can foster as often or as little as you like. Our foster volunteers range from those who always have a foster dog to those who can only do it on occasion.  Either way helps us save more dogs.

What we ask of our foster parents

  • Complete an online Foster Application read our Foster Guidelines, and sign a Foster Contract.  Unfortunately at this time due to Massachusetts State Regulations, we are unable to foster dogs in the state of Massachusetts.  We apologize but have to comply with state regulations.
  • Be willing to work with the dog to help them get ready for adoption. This includes housebreaking, basic training, socialization, etc.
  • Agree to actively partner in helping place the animal and make it available to prospective adopters.
  • We encourage you to attend weekend adoption events with your foster dog. If you are unable to commit to at least one a month still fill out an application, we can usually arrange for transportation to and from adoption events if necessary.
