Sloan (called Gryffy by his foster family) is a wonderful dog who is more than just good looks, he is also smart, quick to learn, and very sweet! Extremely loving and affectionate, Sloan loves meeting new people, and is very polite when he does. He takes treats very gently. He has perfect house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Sloan is not a barker and does not get on the furniture. He would love a younger, energetic dog as a playmate. It’s apparent that he is a herding dog when he plays, so the playmate would need to be comfortable with being herded. Sloan needs a yard for exercise. While he is very friendly with other dogs and wants to play off leash, he gets too excited when he sees them on leash, so walks in neighborhoods where he encounters other dogs are difficult. A fenced yard where he can exercise and play without any neighborhood dogs (who obviously need to be herded!) is required for him. He is not a good candidate for the dog park; another dog in the home who is up for a playmate is preferred. Be warned, Sloan likes it best when the other dog will be the sheep and will let him chase them around. Sloan is too interested in cats to live with them. Sloan is a medium-energy dog and loves to cuddle with this people every chance he gets. Sloan really is the total package of looks, brains and personality!
