Sir Archibald, who goes by Archie, is a big personality in a little package! He came from a hoarding situation and is very comfortable with other, small dogs, and relies on them to show them he’s safe; for this reason, we are requiring that there be another dog in any home that adopts him. Coming from a rocky start, Archie is still learning to trust and how to be a dog! Archie is cautious with new people and would prefer to keep a safe distance until he knows you, so he’ll need a home with a fenced yard to go in and out safely. We’re still working on house training but he’s starting to get it! Archie’s foster mom reports that he has found his voice, and is happy to inform you if there is activity outside the house.
Once he loves you, he’s your shadow! He’ll come to the door with a wagging tail but still gives space – it’s all on his terms! At night, he’s happy to be close in bed and nibble on your hand. Archie loves nothing more than snuggling up with another small dog. He’s learning to play and is happy to wrestle! A considerate guy, if he senses his opponent is getting tired, he gives them some space to rest. He’s starting to figure out that toys can be really fun, as long as they’re his size!
Archie has only been in a car a few times. In this unfamiliar setting, he just freezes, lying down and staying quiet. Because of his size and nervousness, he’ll need a quiet, adult household without kids.
