Hobbes is the best boy! He is sweet and loving and likes every person and dog he meets. He is currently living quite peacefully with a young child and a very timid cat. He has met over a dozen dogs on daily walks and wants to play with each one. He is happiest when he is touching you and will follow you everywhere you go, even in the shower if he can get himself in the tub. He is estimated to be 1-2 years old and he is still very puppyish in demeanor. He loves to play with other dogs, chase tennis balls and Frisbees, and go on long walks (always with his nose to the ground). If he gets excited or sees another dog he does pull on the leash and will need to work on better leash manners. If there are no people or dogs around, though, he is usually quite calm on walks. He is mostly house trained; he is in a new environment and has had only three accidents in two weeks. He could use to gain a few pounds and is happily working on doing so! He knows two commands, “sit” and “drop,” and will generally listen to your guidance. A simple “Hobbes, no” usually gets his attention and he will stop whatever he is doing that he should not. His biggest challenge is grabbing things that he puts in his mouth and chews. He needs to be watched closely if there is anything at all within reach that he think is his to chew. Hobbes sleeps in a crate at night and for short outings (2-3 hours max). He would probably do best in a home with another dog or a fenced yard as he has a good amount of energy that he will need to work off every day. He has never shown an ounce of aggression and wants nothing more than your love and attention! He is a true sweetheart of a dog.
