Who’s ready for a sunrise hike in the Adirondacks? Ooh, ooh, Matcha is! This active little girl has big dreams of being a 46er. If you’ve got similar aspirations, read on to find out all about your next adventure buddy!

Matcha, who recently discovered the wonders of hiking, already considers herself a trailblazer, gladly bounding over rocks and streams. She may be small, but she doesn’t let that stop her, and will even plunge into feet of snow with zero hesitation. True to her terrier nature, she’s very determined when she sets her sights on something…especially those treats in your pocket. She’ll do most anything to earn them, and combined with her genius levels of intelligence, Matcha has potential to learn just about anything. She already knows how to potty outside and follow basic commands like sit and down. In addition to being smart and active, Matcha loves to cuddle when she’s not playing, and can often be found tucked into someone’s lap or curled up with another dog.

Due to her energy level and training needs, Matcha is not suited to apartment life and will do best in an experienced home with another playful dog, and one or two adults who can really focus on her training. She can live with small dogs if given a larger playmate, but cats are just too tempting, and she is intimidated by children. A secure physical fence would be ideal, but we will consider adopters who can provide other outlets for her energy.
