Meet Maya – a two to three year old Husky, with a sweet, energetic personality. Maya is house and crated trained and LOVES to give kisses and get belly rubs.

Maya is a very typical husky in that she likes to stay busy, play, and is bursting with confidence when it comes to other dogs. So much confidence she can make a real pest of herself wanting to play all the time, so a playful male companion who doesn’t mind sharing his home with a dog who likes to be on the go is best. Maya also requires a securely fenced yard as her husky spirit will send her off on adventures.

Maya loves going for car rides and enjoys walks, she does well on leash for the most part – although she can be a bit enthusiastic with her greetings of people and dogs and may sometimes pull to see them.

Maya is thriving on positive reinforcement training and knows some basic obedience, she is particularly good at sitting and waiting for her food – which is impressive with such a food motivated dog! A home with husky experience and a large fenced yard is likely best for this girl. We also feel she might be too much for young children (we mentioned the jumping) and she is too interested in cats to live with them. While it is playful she gets a little obsessed with making the cats run, and it is not fun for the cats.

Maya has been treated for heartworms and needs to stay relatively quiet, no vigorous exercise or play, until she gets the ok from the vet that those nasty pests are gone from her system.
