Nia – adopted!

  • Hound mix,
  • female,
  • ~2 years,
  • 50 lbs.

Nia is a young happy hound mix with a medium energy level. She is housebroken and settles nicely in the crate for sleep, where she sleeps through the night. Nia would be most content with another dog in the home that she can play and bond with. She loves chasing balls, and when she is done running, settles happily with her chew toys.

She is shy at first around new people, but warms up to them and then will follow them anywhere. Nia is very affectionate with her foster mom, and loves getting kisses and cuddles. She rides nicely in the car and is not a big barker, except to greet her people happily when they return home. She wants to please and is treat motivated, so training her should be fun. We think, at her age and weight, that she’d be best with older children who are steady on their feet. Cats are unknown. At present, she is working on her leash manners in her foster home. With a natural bounce in her step, we think she’d be a star at agility!
