Meet Nika… an elegant and delightfully seasoned chocolate Lab with a warm heart. Nika makes time for sunshine on her face, watching squirrels go about their very important business, and enjoying relaxing walks or leisurely strolls around the yard. Her nose works overtime because she is fully committed to sniffing all the sniffs. And when it comes to the finer things? Nika absolutely excels at snacks and naps.

Nika is happiest in a quiet home with a fenced yard, where life moves at her peaceful pace. She enjoys car rides and mellow walks, observing the world from a respectful distance rather than diving into the action. Not a social butterfly, Nika is thoughtfully selective with people—and once you’re chosen, you’re chosen. She forms deep bonds and shows her love in sweet, loyal ways.

Nika is housebroken, has a delightfully silly personality, and when she gets excited she breaks out her signature happy dance, guaranteed to make you smile. She currently lives with two other dogs and does well with them, but she’s a little too interested in cats, so a cat-free home would be best.

Nika first came to Peppertree from a shelter in New York City when she was a young pup. She was a favorite with her foster family, and eventually found her home. Nika was greatly loved by her person until he passed away. Now she is back with her friends at Peppertree and looking for another forever home.
