Nina and Little Lady – adopted!

  • Terrier (?) mixes, bonded pair
  • female,
  • 12+ years.

Thelma and Louise, Abbott and Costello, Cheech and Chong…we all need a fabulous duo to add to the adventure. Meet Nina and Little Lady, a bonded pair of seniors, who are being placed together. One adoption fee is being sponsored. For being considered “senior” ladies, these two have a good amount of energy! You wouldn’t guess their age by watching their adventures outside, as they can often be seen rolling around in the grass on a mild day, or perusing the perimeter with the resident pups. These smaller-sized ladies can navigate steps with ease and come when they are called. Their foster mom also shares they are expert nappers, especially Little Lady, aka Lils, whose favorite spot is in between the pillows. Sleeping in on the weekends is her favorite…well pretty much any day of the week, really. She’s retired, and enjoying it! Lils and Nina are acclimating to house training and pottying outside, and doing pretty well, occasional accidents but are utilizing a doggie pad. They aren’t fans of these northeast winters, even with a sweater.
They walk fairly well on a leash, but sometimes cannot contain their excitement so they are still learning it’s a good idea to walk in a straight line. Both girls love car rides, Lils will jump right in the driver’s seat and take over if you let her. See the photo below for proof of that!

These golden girls are currently living with two larger dogs and cats. Lils can get a little grumpy around the cats if she thinks they want her food, but she lets them know with a mild grumble that there’ll be none of that, and that’s enough to make the resident cats stand down.
The girls do have some special dental needs and prefer soft treats. They also try to eat hard food but need the support of wet food as well.
They would probably do well in a quieter household with older kids due to their size and age.
