Hi, I’m Shady and my world just turned upside down! My human mom is moving on Feb. 21^st 2024 and she can’t take me with her. I’m a 6 ½ year old, spayed Border Collie girl dog and boy do I like walks! In fact even if you pick up my harness, I will whine at a little at the door. My leash manners leave something to be desired but hey…now we have something to do together! I have always had a fenced yard and you really should have one for me. That and of course, the walks. Or hikes. Or agility!!
When I’m inside, I am calm. I will snuggle right up to you or play with a toy, whichever you like – up to you!  I’ve never been in a crate but I also don’t chew on your stuff. My previous mom let me up on the couch but you can train me not to go up there if you need to.

I lived with 2 cats and 2 male dogs. One time when we had kittens, I gently picked one up and brought it to my bed and laid down and we both went to sleep. I don’t need to be with another dog but if you have one, it should be a medium-large size boy dog who I will have to meet first. No small dogs for me though, sorry! My previous human mom said I love kids but nobody has “evaluated” me yet.

I need someone to ensure I get my Nexgard Plus or something similar every month of the year because I have a bad allergy to fleas! That’s why my skin is pink right now and I am missing fur. But the people say I’m looking better and better every day now that I have had all my veterinary care! I can’t wait for my fur to grow back because I’m so worried people will think I’m not beautiful.

I didn’t know I had to find a new home so fast but now that we know, is there anyone out there for me?
