Stevie Wonder

7 year old male pit bull mix – There are many things we can tell you about Stevie Wonder, but the first and likely the most obvious is that he is blind. And without a doubt this could be a challenge for many dogs. But Stevie gets along incredibly well. Once he learns his surroundings he settles right in. So if you think of discounting him because of his lack of sight please keep an open mind. When it comes to personality, to meet Stevie is to absolutely LOVE him. He is joyful and sweet natured and it is really easy to connect with him. He is good with other friendly dogs, totally housebroken and generally an easy keeper. He is interested in cats but he can certainly be kept away from them with a few well placed baby gates. He has taken basic obedience classes and is a well mannered fellow. If you are interested in meeting Stevie Wonder then please fill out an application with Out of the Pits at http://outofthepits.org/adoption/adoption-application-form/ – he is a lovely dog that has been in and out of rescue a few times, and we are eager to see him find his forever home

OOTP lab puppies

We have a litter of 8 males, born on August 31st. Dad was a black lab and mom is a very sweet all American mix breed dog. The pups are adorable! Please contact Adoptions@outofthepits.org for more information.

Miss Piggy

This southern cutie is Miss Piggy and she is approximately three to four years old. Her weight is in the fifty pound range. She is a happy girl with a really nice personality. She is very expressive with her eyes and use them to communicate. She very much enjoys spending time around her humans whether it is hanging on the couch, taking a walk, going somewhere in the car or engaging in play together. She likes chew toys and they are a must for her. Other toys that interest her are ropes for chewing or playing tug a war, tennis balls for a jaw workout, catch or chasing after. Miss Piggy also likes stuffed toys, but they don’t last due to her need to pull the stuffing out. She walks pretty good on a leash and ride really well in the car. Missy Piggy practices yoga and does full body and legs stretches throughout the day. She loves treats and takes treats nicely, and one of her favorites is cheese. Not lady like, but she is quite the belcher after a good meal. Miss Piggy is dog friendly. She would do well as an only dog or with a male canine friend. She is not cat tested. There is a short video clip of Miss Piggy at https://youtu.be/QlPdzAbRhZk She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. If interested in Miss Piggy contact Diane at dianermk@outlook.com

Lulu

Two-year-old female American Bulldog. Upstate Underdog believes every dog has a superpower, and Lulu’s superpower is finding the most comfortable place in the house to nap. (Just watch her locate the bed closest to the fireplace on a chilly night. It’s amazing!) She is a big, gorgeous, loyal, goofy girl who’s looking for a family able to give her a consistent spot in their home and heart. She does hang out with other dogs, but she doesn’t have an “off switch”, so she needs to be the only dog in the house or live with humans who will consistently monitor all dog-dog interactions to make sure she doesn’t continue playing when the other dog wants a break. She chases cats, so a cat-free home is also needed. Lulu’s forever humans need to be sturdy because when she gets excited she still tends to jump and/or pull a lot, so a home with kids or other easily-knocked-over people won’t work. You can be Lulu’s superhero by finding out more about her and our adoption process at http://www.upstateunderdogrescue.org/lulu.html or e-mail them at upstateunderdogrescue@gmail.com

Lee, Lily, Lincoln, Pokey, Shelby and Simon

Our friends at Out of the Pits have a lovely litter of six puppies looking for a home. We could only fit pictures of four, but they are all just as cute! While mom was a sweet and gorgeous pit bull those ears are suggesting that dad may have been a hound. Regardless of who their father is (Mom is not talking) they are loving, sweet, and getting lots of socialization while waiting for their forever homes. If you are looking for a puppy please visit Out of the Pits page at http://outofthepits.org/adoption/available-dogs/ and see if one of these puppies may be a match!

Maggie

  • 5 year old female pit bull – 55 lb –

Are you a runner or an athlete looking for a training partner? Do you have an active family? Maggie is a beautiful 5 year old pit bull currently living in the Albany area. She is housebroken, crate trained, and treadmill trained. She is excellent on a leash, especially when going out for runs, which she loves all year long. Her favorite activities include playing hide and seek with her ball, and playing fetch especially with a frisbee. Maggie learns quickly and has amazing focus, especially when treats are involved. She is very intelligent and athletic, and would do best in an active household. Because she can be boisterous and get very excited, Maggie should not be placed in a home with small children. Maggie is selective about living with and meeting other dogs, and should be cat tested. She absolutely loves people and can’t help herself when it comes to giving lots of kisses. Maggie loves to end her day with lots of snuggles and is great at hogging the blankets. Interested adopters should complete the adoption application on http://www.peppertree.org or http://outofthepits.org.
