Lando grew up in a southern shelter and made the long trip North to find his forever home. Many things are new to him and he is a bit insecure until he realizes he is safe. He is house trained, crate trained, and only barks at scary things, like the UPS truck and the TV.  The TV is a big scary monster that lets bad things in the house but he can’t get to them or escape them. He totally doesn’t get it. He is pretty comical. When he is comfortable, his playful side shines through and he is silly with zoomies.

Sadie – Removed

Hi, I’m Sadie & I’m ready for an active new family who will take me on nice long walks (especially hikes!), and play with me in the yard & ensure I get the mental stimulation I need too. I love to be busy outside but as you can see, I settle down very nicely inside.  I love human attention and I also look for direction from my people. I had a skin allergy that is being managed w/ antihistamines & baths. My fur looks beautiful now doesn’t it:))  I have left hip dysplasia but it sure doesn’t stop me one bit! Just keep giving me my Cosequin & fish oil and I trust you and your vet  will make good decisions for me as I age. My leash manners are very good but if I see another dog, I like to talk to them because I LOVE playing with other dogs. So if you have one, especially an adult pup around my size, that would be a big paws up – a fenced yard is a double paws up! I have a little whine when I want something which is pretty cute if I do say so myself. I love to play with toys and I recently learned that chasing sticks and balls is well…a ball! Oh, I’m a picky eater but the people can share some tricks they’ve used w/ me & tell you all the treats I like best. I haven’t ever been crated but I never chew stuff either. And I like cats! One time I even had a favorite kitten who slept on my bed with me….awwww!! If you think I can thrive in your home, please email kathcollar@yahoo.com Thank you!

Maggie – Adopted!

MAGGIE – 3 year old Female Labradoodle – 53 Lbs – Maggie is an awesome girl who would do best in a house as the only dog. She started as a rescue from Arkansas so we don’t know the history of her first two years, but for the last year she has been a great family pet.  She is good with people, including children, and is unknown with cats. She can be social with other dogs but has had some conflict in the home with the resident dog so her family thinks she would do best as an only dog. She is very friendly and has had training for basic commands. She can be left at home all day with no crate. She loves squeaky toys, children, and is very smart.

Shelby – Adopted!

Shelby – 5 year old female 50 lbs mixed breed – Shelby is a sweet, affectionate, well mannered dog – she will make a wonderful addition to the right home. Shelby has excellent house manners – she is house trained, not a barker and she does not chew up things. Shelby even knows how to use a dog door, and has been allowed to roam free on a farm with our other dog and the farm animals for the past two years. She doesn’t chase the farm animals, nor wild life. Shelby’s quite content to walk calmly on or off leash and will stay indoors for many hours without a fuss. She’s been trained and will sit, stay, lie down and come on demand. Shelby is a bit insecure and timid, she gets nervous around the vacuum, and around loud noises – for example she eats in a heavy dog bowl because she gets scared if her bowl moves. Once she gets to know you Shelby is very friendly and loves to snuggle. She will lean on you when you sit on the couch. Shelby is polite to visitors and is polite around new people, including children, but she is not a social butterfly. Shelby is polite with other dogs but does get anxious around dogs who crowd her space or are very hyper.  She is looking for a new home as she is not getting along with an older female dog in the home, so she is seeking a home where she can be the only dog. She does very well with cats and has been great around live stock. The family is heartbroken to rehome her but is doing what is best for her and their other dog. Shelby’s family would like potential adopters to fill out an adoption application through Peppertree and we will forward them to the family.
