Chico – Friends

Meet Chico, a 5 year old, 12 lb., male Chihuahua mix who is looking for his forever home. Chico has lived in two different homes in the past. He was well loved in his last home but his owner unfortunately passed away unexpectedly. He does well in quiet environments and needs to gain your trust. Once he gains your trust and knows you mean him no harm, he is a great companion. Chico has excelled in his foster home; It took him a few days for him to settle.

Chico prefers to be the only dog. He becomes reactive if he feels too overwhelmed or if he feels like someone is invading his boundaries. Chico has some behavior quirks that NEED to be to managed. For example, he has some resource guarding behaviors that have been successfully managed.

Chico enjoys playing and running in the yard. He really likes car rides. He knows basic commands and will sit and wait before he is fed. He is mostly house trained but does have accidents every so often. Chico does snuggle with his foster parents but it is on his terms. He does not like to be picked up and forced into your space. If he is comfortable and wants to join you on your lap then he will. Chico is used to a very strict routine. He does not sleep with his foster people, he has his own room. This routine is working for him. Chico needs quiet home with no young children and an owner that can understand his need for his own space.

Ozzy

Hi, I’m Ozzy! I’m a little more bashful then my brothers. I will zoomie around, play with my brothers or foster fur siblings. My favorite thing to do is sit with my people or sleep.

Born 3/31/23

Cattle dog experience is preferred

**The Australian Cattle dog was designed for the job of herding. To that end they tend to “nip” at your heels as they try to herd you to where they want you to go. Young yelling kids are perfect for herding! These dogs have almost boundless reserves of energy that are almost impossible to drain, and if not regularly exercised, they can swiftly turn to mischievous behavior. They are famously loyal, smart, and alert animals that make great family pets. We wanted to add this to these dogs as it’s important to really understand the breed you are applying for.

Ozzy is with our friends at Out of the Pits. You can find their adoption requirements and contact information here.

Onyx courtesy friends

Hi, I’m Onyx! I’m like my brother Otis, I like to play a lot but my favorite game is chase! I’ll chase the ball, kids, my fur siblings all over! I don’t discriminate! I’m also an explorer that can sometimes turn into a hide and seek game if you don’t keep your eyes on me! After all that playing, I’ll find a nice spot to lay down and sleep.

Lemmy – Courtesy Friends

Hi I’m Lemmy! I’m told that I’m having a perpetual bad hair day. I don’t know about that – I just think my hair matches my fun personality.

I’m such a happy guy and love life! There is so much fun stuff to do! My favorites are playing hide and seek in the grass, playing tag with my brother and fosters, and chasing after a ball or other toy.

When I fall asleep, I do so with my legs in the air. I am super smart and have learned to sit and am doing well with potty training.

I would do well with an active family or someone who likes to be outside and/or play. Having a fuzzy sister to play with would be a plus! Are you my forever family?

Lemmy is with our friends at Out of the Pits. You can find their adoption requirements and contact information here.
