  • Yorkie mix,
  • female,
  • 2 years,
  • 5-10 lbs.

Suzu is 7 lb. of adorableness. This young girl is busy and bouncy. Von – Adopted!

  • All-American mix,
  • male,
  • 1-2 years,
  • 47 lbs.

Von’s foster mom calls him a “unicorn” because he’s that one dog in a million who is just too good to be true! Well, also because of the bump on his forehead which gives him that unique, “magical” look. We have confirmed with a vet that it is from a previous trauma and should cause him no problems in the future. The dog behind that unique face is a goofball! Learn More >

Kennedy – NC Friends

Meet Kennedy! This beautiful girl almost looks like a purebred lab and she has the personality of one! She loves her balls, being active, other dogs, water, and playing.

Kennedy is initially on the shyer side with humans, but give her another dog and watch her play! Given this, Kennedy will do best in a home with another, confident dog. Kennedy will need someone that has the time to devote to her continued training and socializing. Kennedy is good with older children but given her initial shyness, we think she would do best in a quieter home.

Kennedy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, crate trained and house broken. Her date of birth is 05/17/2021.

If you are interested in meeting Kennedy the first step is to complete an application at our website, www.helporphanpuppies.org.

Penny – Courtesy friends

Meet Penny! This beautiful girl came to us pregnant and has been one of the best moms!

Penny loves everyone in her foster home. She loves the adults and the children. Penny will chase a cat and therefore we would not place her in a home with a cat. She loves to go for car rides. Penny matches her energy level to what her humans are doing. She will lay with you while you garden or happily go for a walk. She is the first to cuddle up with you while you watch tv.

Penny is crate trained, housebroken, spayed and up to date on vaccines. If you are interested in meeting Penny, the first step is to complete an application at our website, www.helporphanpuppies.org.

Troy

Troy is a 1 year old 50lb pound boy from Puerto Rico. He arrived a couple of weeks ago. The weather does not seem to bother him, snow, rain wind does not mater he is ready for adventure. He is super friendly and his tail does not stop wagging.
Troy loves walks! He is good on a leash. So, if you are looking for a partner to stroll around the neighborhood he is the one. He has been walked with multiple dogs and does great. He also likes to play, play, play with anyone that will play. Big dogs, small dogs it does not matter. He plays soft and gentle. He is good with dogs young and old and will adjust to their play style. His ideal home would have a young male or female dog for him to play with or maybe teenagers to keep him busy running around outside.
Troy has good manners for a young dog, but would benefit from an obedience course. He is working on commands “come” and “sit”. He is housetrained and crate trained. He loves during the day to chew on a bone or a kong to stay busy. He also likes to chew on his toys. He is very good at playing with toys and tossing them up in the air to entertain himself while you are doing work or if the older dogs do not want to play anymore.
He is great at night and settles on a comfy bed to watch tv with you.

Who is looking for a friendly, young super sweet boy to go on springtime adventure?

If you’d like more information about Troy, contact Monica at mblizzar@nycap.rr.com .

Alfie is a from GA and he is a good ole southern boy. He is around 7 years old and 35 pounds. He is good with dogs big and small. He is super sweet and LOVES to be petted. He would love to sit on someone’s lap and watch TV in the evening.

Alfie is crate trained and house trained and is working on learning commands. He is a good boy and can entertain himself with toys if you are busy. His favorite toy is a ball that lights up. He is also a fan of catch and will bring the ball back for you to throw again. He loves to play with all types of toys. His favorite night time activity is to lay on his comfy bed and get belly rubs!!!!!

He would do well with pretty much anyone. He has not been tested with young kids. He is the perfect age and perfect size.

Ranger

This is Ranger. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 10 lbs. My best guess is he is a Min Pin mix. He was saved from a high kill shelter in the south. He came north for rescue and adoption with two of his housemates. He is all vetted including micro chipped. Ranger is an active little dog. He loves to zoom about and play. He is working on housebreaking. He would do best in an adult home . He had lived with an elder. He is NOT good with cats . He would make an older couple or individual a great companion. If interested in Ranger, please fill out an application with Peppertree and we will forward it to his foster.

Peaches

This is ” Peaches”. She is at best guess a mix of Min Pin /Dachshund. She was surrendered to a high kill shelter in Georgia along with her housemates. She is all vetted and extremely sweet. As typical of the toy breeds, she loves to sit with you, eat with you, would love to sleep with you. She is approximately 1 year old and 11 lbs. NOT good with cats but great with all my dogs. She will make a great companion friend. She is working on housebreaking here. If you are interested in learning more about Peaches, fill out an application through Peppertree and we will pass it along to Peaches’ foster.

Ollie

Ollie is a Heeler Mix he is about 8 months old. He is now all vetted. He had a stuttering start in life, changing hands and households numerous times. He was over-crated and under exercised. He is an active puppy that needs exercise, structure, and correction. He is crate trained, doing extremely well with housebreaking and working on manners. He is a smart puppy who really wants to please. I am looking for a loving, responsible, rural home with an active family. He is living with several dogs both sexes and doing very well. He is too high energy for a home with toddlers. He would not harm a child, just knock them down. He would do very well with another active dog to play with as well. He is a HANDSOME puppy with whimsical ways. I am looking for his FOREVER home. I will wait till I get that commitment.

If interested in Ollie, please submit an application through Peppertree and mention his name. We will pass the information on to his foster.

Andy

Meet Andy! He is a wonderful dog but sadly, he came from a terrible situation. Andy lived his life confined in a filthy kennel and was used for breeding.

Due to his past, and never having lived in a home, he is just learning how to be a dog, which includes housebreaking. As we all know, Andy’s past doesn’t define who he is.

This handsome guy is 6.5 years old and weighs a healthy 60lbs. He loves to go for walks, and taking in all of the scents the outdoors has to offer.

Andy is great with other dogs, but would prefer a home without younger dog energy.

His foster mom absolutely adores him! Going forward, here is what we would like for Andy’s future forever home. 🐾 A rural home with people who are home – perhaps a retiree or someone who works permanently from home. 🐾 We DO NOT want him crated for someone’s work day (he has already been confined 6 1/2 years)! We want him to have his “Day In The Sun” for his remaining life❤

If interested in Andy, please submit an application through Peppertree and mention his name. We will pass the information on to his foster.

Nollie – Adopted!

  • Corgi mix,
  • male,
  • 2 years,
  • 32 lbs.

Nollie is a submissive guy with a serious look on his face 90% of the time, but don’t let that fool you – he’s really a happy little goofball. He can’t soak up enough attention from his favorite people, and he’s polite when meeting new people, too. Nollie enjoys greeting and playing with other dogs, but he would have no problem being the only pup in his home Learn More >

Chico

Chico is a friendly and laid-back companion. At 11 yrs old he still loves a game of fetch and his walks (especially if a squirrel crosses the path—hold on tight at that point!) Once the squirrel danger is past, he walks well on leash. Being a Lab, Chico looks forward to mealtime. He is very chill in the house, and stays close to his person. He is good with other dogs, but likes to bark at cats so he’s a bit too interested in them to share a home with one. This boy has a “guardian angel” who will help with his vet bills; currently food allergies are being looked at as a cause for some skin issues. If you are in the Capital District and would like to know more about this sweetheart and maybe meet him please call Catherine at 518 369 3826.

Cooper

Cooper is a lovely southern gentlemen that comes to us all the way from Texas. He is tired of the hot weather and is looking forward to seeing snow in the Northeast. Coop is super friendly with everyone, and is good with dogs big and small. He has wonderful house manners as well. He is house trained and crate trained and does not chew on your shoes. He also knows the commands sit, down, and comes when called. He is working on “paw”.

At a dignified 8 1/2  years old, Cooper is looking for a forever retirement home to spend his golden years. He would be happy with a young couple, retired couple, single guy or single lady (you guessed it he is pretty much good with all.)

His forever home would need to have a person looking for a constant companion to follow them with whatever they are doing. Supervising yard work, supervising computer work, watching tv, hanging out in the kitchen while you prepare snacks, he is in! He would also LOVE a basket of stuffed squeaky toys. He loves to empty the toy basket and carry stuffies all around the house. His favorite trick is to try to sneak toys out of the house into the yard (lol).

Cooper also loves walks. He wags like crazy when you get out his leash. If you are looking for a walking buddy he is the one for you . He walks nicely on a leash. He is on the plump side (75 lbs) and could use a daily walk or two (shh!)

At night he is all in for a night of watching movies and curling up with blankets on a comfy dog bed. If you are looking for a mature fellow who has it all together, he might be the one for you! For more information about Cooper, contact Monica at mblizzar@nycap.rr.com .

Pico is the sweetest pup with the silliest walk. This little guy just wants to be near you and will follow you from room to room. His back legs are a bit wonky, so he tends to slip on hard floors and has trouble jumping onto furniture, but that is all part of his charm. Learn More >
